Statement about this object This is an example of dab tsho qhos, or elaborate collars, found only on Hmong women's clothing. Collars are created independently and later added to clothing. They are stitched to the neckline of the jacket, facing either outward or inward depending on the clan. White Hmong wear the embroidery face out, while Blue Hmong wear the embroidery turned underneath, though there may be exceptions to this statement. Because of the quality of the craftsmanship and design, collars epitomize the Hmong textile tradition.
