Statement about this object From http://onereel.org/bumbershoot-posters/#/1976/:
"The festival spans two weekends, including, for the first time, Labor Day weekend. {Attractions include} a young jazz singer named Diane Schuur, soon to go on to international fame. San Francisco’s Magic Theatre presents “Angel City,” written and directed by a member of the company, Sam Shepard, long before his movie-acting days."

From Seattle Times, 08/29/1990, http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=19900829&slug=1090347
"According to Norm Langill of One Reel, producers of Bumbershoot, the all-time favorite festival poster appeared in 1976, when Jacob Lawrence painted a busy park scene where even the benches seem about to get up and boogie.
