Toland, a long-time resident of Helena, Montana now living in Vaughan, Washington, is an artist and arts conservator. She describes her work as large prints made thought collage and reconstruction. "In both my paintings and prints I work in a layered, additive and subtractive way which allows me to build a complexity of related images." She has presented solo exhibitions at Lorinda Knight Gallery in Spokane, Washington; Turman Larison Contemporary, Helena, Montana; Nancy Margolis Gallery, New York City; and the Holter Museum of Art, Helena, Montana. Her work can be found in public collections across Montana including the Montana Museum of Art and Culture, University of Montana, Missoula; Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, Great Falls, Montana; and the Yellowstone Art Museum, Billings, Montana.
