Statement about this object |
Beausoleil compares her fluid imagery with a walk through the woods. The sum of the experience is something different from the experience of the individual parts. She translates the memory of her movement with elongated shapes and rhythmic lines. About this she writes, "A drawing of a living tree cannot be an honest representation simply because the living tree is constantly changing... the drawn tree is an 'ideal' tree, the tree we have stored in our visual language." |
