Statement about this object |
Collector Susie Miller commissioned this work by inviting the artist to create something that she might make for an elder. The artist explained that the green cross in the center white square represents the centerpost of her home in the middle of a village or valley, which is shown by the green/white labyrinthine pattern. White points all around the maze design indicated surrounding mountains. The artist explained this flower cloth represents her home in Laos and her home in Missoula. |
