Statement about this object |
The illustration at the center of the plate was painted by Kiahsuang (K.S.) Lo, Beth Lo's mother and an accomplished painter in her own right. K.S. provided the inscription about good children helping with shopping and food preparation on the left side of the plate though Beth performed the calligraphy. Beth drew the seven illustrations around the edge of the plate based on drawings made by her son, Tai, when he was a child. There are two red chops on the right side; the upper is Beth's name and the lower is K.S.'s. The two chops on the left are decorative. |
