"This little painting is from the country around the Gallatin Gateway, south of Bozeman. It is an attempt to do something about a very strong visual response and was painted on the spot in about 15 minutes. "My reaction to Montana is, PARADISIO! ....most of the time. "This part of my work is related to nature and earth; otherwise, it's related to people (but then we're all nature's) and some of the sumbols we become ourselves with, from neckties to strange religions." -- Artist's Statement, 1989 |
